Speakers:

  • Dr. Yan. Jiang has over 20 years of experience in the biopharma industry, specializing in market dynamics, commercial insights, and deal and funding analysis. After earning a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Columbia University, Dr. Jiang worked in strategy consulting at McKinsey and later at Leerink Partners, where he focused on strategy and trends in the biopharma sector.

    Dr. Jiang has held commercial insights roles at Bayer, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and in the biotech sector, focusing on demand optimization, commercial access, and business development. He also received training in Valuation and Venture Capital at the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia University. In his current role at Bayer, Dr. Jiang focuses on business development and deal analysis, identifying key macro trends shaping the biopharma funding landscape. Dr. Jiang has been a speaker at various biopharma business development events, including the Biopharma Partnering Summit, and has contributed to Bayer's Expert Monday series on deal-making trends.

  • Brian Nagle is Vice President of Bayer U.S. Public Affairs, Science and Sustainability. He leads U.S. government affairs and policy efforts on behalf of Bayer's pharmaceutical business. Brian previously served as Legislative Directory for U.S. Senator Kay Hagan (D-NC), where he was the Senator's principal advisor on all legislative and policy matters including her work as a member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee. Brian also worked in Federal Affairs at the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) from 2005 to 2012. During his time at PhRMA, he was involved in industry advocacy efforts around comprehensive health reform, prescription drug importation, and Medicare Part D. Earlier in his career, Brian held a number of legislative positions for U.S. Senator Fritz Hollings (D-SC).
